Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating an account and using BookScore ("the app," "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply to all users, including beta testers.

What BookScore is

BookScore is a tool to help book collectors and resellers scan, analyze, price, and manage vintage book inventory. It is currently in beta — features are incomplete and may change, break, or be removed.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use BookScore
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

Your data

• You own your inventory data. We do not claim any rights to it.
• You grant us a limited license to store and process your data for the purpose of operating the service
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter
• We are not responsible for data loss due to technical failures, though we take reasonable precautions to prevent it

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the service
• Submit false, misleading, or harmful content
• Attempt to access another user's data
• Use automated tools to abuse the scanning or analysis features (the fair use limit is 800 scans per month on paid plans)
• Resell or sublicense access to the service

Pricing information

BookScore provides estimated book values and pricing suggestions based on eBay sold listing data and AI analysis. These are estimates only, not guarantees of market value. We are not responsible for financial decisions made based on pricing data provided by the app.

Platform fee estimates (for Whatnot, eBay, and other platforms) are calculated from published fee schedules and are estimates only. Actual fees charged by those platforms may differ. BookScore is not affiliated with eBay, Whatnot, or any other resale platform.

Beta testing

During the beta period:

• The app may be unstable, slow, or unavailable at times
• Features may change without notice
• We may contact you for feedback
• Beta access may be revoked at any time for any reason
• There is no SLA or uptime guarantee during beta

Intellectual property

The BookScore name, logo, design, and code are owned by MazySuzan LLC. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without written permission.

Author profiles and book metadata displayed in the app are derived from public domain sources, user-generated contributions, and third-party APIs. We do not claim copyright over facts about books or authors.

Disclaimer of warranties

BookScore is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees that the service will be available, error-free, or accurate at any given time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MazySuzan LLC and BookScore are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these terms or for any operational reason. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@bookscore.app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the State of Michigan.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will notify active users of material changes by email. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
